Before reading: I got an arc. Dear god please be another groveling romance like day of the duchess!!! I need it to be!! After reading: Well I live for second chance romance and my last experience with it from SM was brilliant.
And the romance and love felt like it was based too much on the past and not enough on the present and the people they grew up to be.

Hi, this book was my everything. This book gave me things I didn't even know I wanted. I just thought it was magnificent and subversive in the best way.
I'm not even coherent right now because I don't know how to talk about it without spoilers, but this book is just perfect. View all 4 comments.

Look, I hate to be greedy This book is one of them. I will be at KissCon next year and was really hoping this would be out by then so I could get it signed but June works too and I'll just have to narrow down my MacLean favorites and bring one of those.

My trepidation for starting this book was two-fold. One, because I was am? So I'm pretty pleased that a, this book pulled me out of the world for a short time, and b, that the turnaround for this character felt..
Very different from the last third-book-in-a-series-asshole-redemption installment I e My trepidation for starting this book was two-fold.
Very different from the last third-book-in-a-series-asshole-redemption installment I experienced from MacLean, so. It was swoony, it was angsty, it had agency, and it had a happy ending.
And there's a lot to be said for a lot of that. Full review to come! But I will do my best, because this book, this series, this author — deserves the best!
Grace is the sister of the Bastards. What we finally discover in this book are the reasons that set Ewan in motion. It is a hard truth to swallow, but wow, MacLean does a remarkable job of allowing the reader to grow empathy for a man we disliked so much in the previous books.
I believe their story is one you must experience for yourself. In true MacLean fashion, she writes her heroine as the hero of herself in this story.
This was the perfect ending, to a perfect series. It will leave you feeling full and satisfied. View 2 comments.
May 15, Joana V. Review originally published at Romancing Romances. I received an eARC at no cost from the author, and I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.
Thank you. I can't express how happy I am to have received this book, and just before my birthday. What a wonderful gift. If you've read any of Sarah MacLean's books, you know she's great at turning a villain around.
And this book is testament to that. Although I'll say, I liked Ewan from the first book, even though I didn't like what he did.
The Bareknuck Review originally published at Romancing Romances. The Bareknuckle Bastards series follows the life of four siblings.
Three boys Devil, Whit, and Ewan born of the same man, but different women, and a girl with no blood connection to either of them, but family nonetheless.
Devil and Whit's stories are the previous books in the series, and this one is the story of the girl. The girl whose name was given by Ewan, the fourth boy.
Because she didn't even have that. Grace loved Devil and Whit as brothers, but with Ewan it was always different. And that's why it hurt so much when Ewan behaved in a way that made the Bareknuckle Bastards run away from him, scared and feeling as betrayed as possible.
Their pain prevented them from seeing what was really happening. I absolutely loved this book. I read it in just a few hours.
Sarah MacLean's writing is so compelling, and so sexy! Her characters come to life before your eyes and just amaze you with their behaviours and actions.
Grace is this strong, independent woman. A queen in her turf. Covent Garden was her home, even though she was not born there.
And when Ewan could, the first thing he did was chase Grace and track her down. No, not chase. Search for her.
And his heart and mind couldn't take it when his brothers told him she was dead. Because he knew he could feel her. And when he started to believe them, nothing could stand in his path to destruction for they had let the woman he loved die.
Which is something Whit and Devil ended up admitting they would have probably done, if their loved ones had died in the same way.
I loved the heart to heart talks between Grace and Ewan, and how their trust starts to rebuild, and how Ewan realizes it has to be Grace's choice.
It could not be in any different way. The one thing I missed in the book was a reunion of the brothers at the end.
Ewan told Grace what happened, but I would have liked a talk between the brothers. Devil and Whit learn the truth just as Grace, but if only we had a scene with the brothers being closer, or at least that open door The way Ewan suffered broke my heart.
With a collection of flame-haired babes. Their children. A family. I am usually not a fan of second-chance romances, but this one In short, read this book.
You won't regret it, and you'll love the Bareknuckle Bastards. Aug 03, Denise Lima marked it as to-read. One more year of torture waiting to understand wtf happened between those two.
Apr 29, nick rated it it was amazing Shelves: april , contemporary , needs-review , arc , books-i-love. RTC 4. Welp, I read Sarah MacLean's entire Bareknuckle Bastards series in less than two days after receiving the ARC for Daring and the Duke , so it goes without saying that I'm totally obsessed and also incredibly sad that my time with these characters is over.
We finally got some Grace and Ewan action! I'm still a little on the fence about Ewan since we spent two books hating him, but I'm also on the fence about the fact that I don't actually hate him after this final book.
What kind of sorcery di Welp, I read Sarah MacLean's entire Bareknuckle Bastards series in less than two days after receiving the ARC for Daring and the Duke , so it goes without saying that I'm totally obsessed and also incredibly sad that my time with these characters is over.
What kind of sorcery did MacLean pull here?! I loved Grace in all three of the novels you run that bordello, girl!
Plus, love me a dramatic flourish at the end of a romance series. This one's 3. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm about to devour the rest of Sarah MacLean's books and not talk to anybody until I do.
May 08, Jenn rated it it was amazing. There was so much hurt and emotions, you could feel it through the pages. My stomach was in knots.
Grace has learned to live without him. When the Duke finds her, her world is flipped. Everything she thought she knew about that night long ago, was wrong.
I loved these characters. They grew up together and know when to push each other and when to hold back. Watching them find their HEAs was definitely not easy, but in the end all things worked out.

The vast majority of the world's countries—including all of the great powers—eventually formed two opposing military alliances: the Allies and the Axis.
It was the most global war in history; it directly involved more than million people from over 30 countries. In a state of total war, the major participants threw their entire economic, industrial, and scientific capabilities behind the war effort, blurring the distinction between civilian and military resources.
World War II was the deadliest conflict in human history, marked by 50 to 85 million fatalities, most of whom were civilians in the Soviet Union and China.
It included massacres, the genocide of the Holocaust, strategic bombing, premeditated death from starvation and disease and the only use of nuclear weapons in war.
The Allied soldiers quickly break through the Atlantic Wall and push inland in the largest amphibious military operation in history.
The Allies promoted the alliance as a means to control German, Japanese and Italian aggression. The technological superiority required for such dominance was seen as necessary for national security, and symbolic of ideological superiority.
